Ottawa Renegades News Release
OTTAWA â The Ottawa Renegades are proud to announce that Canadian offensive tackle Chris Burns has been named Rogers AT&T Lineman of the Week by the CFL.
The 30-year-old Burns (6-4, 295, Portland State) led the Renegades offensive line during a 43-38 victory over the Montreal Alouettes on August 29 at Frank Clair Stadium.
Outstanding work up front by Burns and his teammates on the O-line helped the Renegades gain a franchise-record 185 rushing yards. Three of Ottawa's four touchdowns against Montreal were scored on the ground. All three rushing touchdowns, set up by tremendous blocking up front, were scored on big-yardage gains (Josh Ranek had touchdown runs of 38 and 22 yards, and quarterback Kerry Joseph scored on a 63-yard run, the longest touchdown rush in franchise history.)
