Chris Anderson Makes ONEOK Field History in 2-1 Win
July 17, 2015 - Texas League (TL1)
Tulsa Drillers News Release
The sellout crowd that attended Friday's game in downtown Tulsa witnessed a never-before-seen performance from a Tulsa Drillers pitcher. Chris Anderson became the first Drillers hurler to ever throw a nine-inning complete game at ONEOK Field. Anderson was dominant throughout the nine innings and helped the Drillers post a 2-1 win over the Arkansas Travelers 2-1.
Now in its sixth season of existence, ONEOK Field had never been the site of a nine-inning performance from a Tulsa pitcher.
Anderson looked as if he could have gone longer. He surrendered only four hits and one walk and retired the final eight Travs' hitters in order. The victory improved his record to 9-5.

Former Cuban National Team player Erisbel Arruebarrena joined the Drillers Friday afternoon, and it did not take him long to have an impact and give Anderson a lead. In his first at-bat in a Drillers uniform, the shortstop led off the second inning with a solo home run that opened the game's scoring. The 25-year-old Arruebarrena signed a reported $25 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers last spring and played in 22 games in the big leagues last season.
Tulsa added its second run in the third inning, and it came with the help of a Travelers' error. With two outs and the bases empty, Lars Anderson drew a walk and advanced to third on a base hit by Kyle Farmer. Anderson then scored when third baseman Drew Maggi mishandled a ground ball off the bat of Arruebarrena.
The lone damage against Anderson came via a solo home run from Eric Stamets leading off the seventh. It would be the final hit the right-hander would surrender.
One of the Drillers four hits in the game came from a seventh-inning single by Peter Lavin. The hit extended Lavin's hitting streak to 11 straight games. It is the longest streak this year for a Tulsa player.
The two teams will play the final game of their four-game set Saturday night at ONEOK Field. Pitcher Jairo Heredia is scheduled to make his Tulsa debut in the finale, while Michael Brady (3-4, 2.92 ERA) will take the mound for the Travelers. Starting time in downtown Tulsa is scheduled for 7:05PM.
