KIDS GET IN FREE THIS SUNDAY AS CHIVAS USA HOSTS COLUMBUS AT THE HOME DEPOT CENTER: Chivas USA returns home this Sunday, April 5, at 5:00 p.m. to face the Columbus Crew at The Home Depot Center (Live on KAZA Azteca 54 and W Radio 690 AM; tape-delayed on PRIME TICKET at 8:30 p.m.). The Red-and-White have won both of their matches in the 2009 season, and bring the winning streak back to The Home Depot Center to face the defending MLS Cup Champion Columbus Crew. Kids Get in Free to the match - with the purchase of each adult ticket (8 maximum), one child aged 16 and under will get into the match for free. Also for the game against the Crew, which features Argentine midfielder and reigning MLS MVP Guillermo Barros Schelotto, the first 7,500 fans through the gates will receive a free Chivas USA hat. LILLINGSTON AND STEPANOVIC SCORE TO GIVE RED-AND-WHITE 2-0 WIN AT DALLAS: Newcomers Eduardo Lillingston and Bojan Stepanovic each scored in the second half to give Chivas USA a 2-0 victory over Dallas at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Tex. Lillingston opened the scoring in the 56th minute after receiving a pass from Chivas USA youth product Gerson Mayen, who was making his MLS debut in the match. The game's second goal was scored in the 75th minute by Stepanovic, who had been signed just two days before the match. Zach Thornton made six saves in the game to earn the shutout, his first of the season and 59th of his career. The win was just Chivas USA's second in 14 MLS matches in the state of Texas.

BORNSTEIN JOINS KLJESTAN ON U.S. NATIONAL TEAM AHEAD OF WEDNESDAY MATCH: Jonathan Bornstein was added on Monday to the United States National Team squad ahead of Wednesday's CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier against Trinidad & Tobago. The match, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CT (4:30 p.m. PT) in Nashville, Tenn. and will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Galavision, is the third of the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying. Most recently, the United States came from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 tie on the road at El Salvador, a match in which Chivas USA midfielder Sacha Kljestan started and played the first 72 minutes. The U.S. is currently in first place of the six-team group after two matches, with the top three teams in the group qualifying automatically for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

AYSO VIP PROGRAM IN THIS WEEK'S YOUTH SOCCER SPOTLIGHT: This week, the Chivas USA Youth Soccer Spotlight will highlight the AYSO Very Important Players (VIP) program, which provides a quality soccer experience for children and adults whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams. The Youth Soccer Spotlight is a program that debuted earlier this year and features a local soccer team or club at every home game for the Red-and-White this season. The team will be highlighted on Chivas USA broadcasts, as well as on the field prior to the game, and will even get the chance to have a team photo on the Red-and-White's bench. SANTEE EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX IS SUNDAY'S BAND OF THE GAME: Chivas USA will feature one local band at each of its home games in 2009, and at the match on April 5, students from the Santee Educational Complex Band will perform before and during the match. Also being honored on Saturday night as Chivas USA's Schools of the Game are Lynwood High School of Lynwood, and Jordan High School of Long Beach, who will have students in attendance at the game.

INJURY UPDATE: Several Chivas USA players are still recovering from offseason surgeries and other injuries; goalkeeper Dan Kennedy, defenders Bobby Burling and Lawson Vaughn, and forward Ante Razov may come back in April, while midfielder Sasha Victorine could return from knee surgery in May. CHIVAS USA DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY TEAMS TOP FC PORTLAND: The Chivas USA U-18 and U-16 Teams each earned two-goal victories over visiting FC Portland of Oregon in matches played at Cerritos College in Norwalk on Saturday, March 28. The U-16's kicked off first, and finished with a 4-2 victory with goals coming from Manuel Cazares (2), Angel Cholico, and Chayanne Santiago. The U-18's followed with a 3-1 win, with Daniel Sanchez scoring twice and Victor Sanchez notching a goal of his own. Next up for Chivas USA is a battle with the Irvine Strikers on Saturday, April 4, at Concordia University in Irvine, with the U-16's playing at 11:00 a.m. and the U-18's following at 1:15. GERSON MAYEN ON 'PÁSION CHIVAS USA' THIS THURSDAY AT 5:00 P.M. PT: Fans can tune in to 'Pasión Chivas USA', airing this Thursday night on the Red-and-White, W Radio 690 AM, at its new timeslot of 5-6 p.m. PT. Hosts Hipólito Gamboa and Rigoberto Cervantez, who also serve as play-by-play and color commentator for every Chivas USA match of the 2009 MLS season, will preview Sunday's match against Columbus, recap the 2-0 win at FC Dallas, and speak with midfielder Gerson Mayen, who marked his MLS debut with an assist on Sunday. CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA UPDATE: Chivas de Guadalajara had a week off from league action but appointed a new coach, as Omar Arellano was given the reigns to the team on Monday. This followed a 1-0 loss in the Mexican First Division for the second consecutive week on March 21, which dropped Chivas' record to 3-3-5 (W-L-T) on the season. Guadalajara currently sits in fifth place in Group 2 of the Mexican First Division, just one point out of second place and five points behind leaders Pumas, and now faces San Luis at home on Saturday, April 4.
