CHIVAS USA TO PLAY IN MICHAEL HOEFFLIN FOUNDATION BENEFIT MATCH THIS SUNDAY: As preparations continue for the 2009 MLS season, Chivas USA will face the Ventura County Fusion of the Premier Development League this Sunday in a benefit match for the Michael Hoefflin Foundation. The match takes place this Sunday, March 1, at 5:00 p.m. in Cougar Stadium at the College of the Canyons in Valencia, Calif., and all proceeds from the game go to the non-profit Michael Hoefflin Foundation, which provides financial and emotional support to children and their families facing childhood cancer in Santa Clarita and the surrounding area. Tickets, which cost $20 for adults and $15 for children, are on sale now, and also available is a special Family Pack, which includes two adult tickets and two youth tickets for just $40. CHIVAS USA SINGLE-GAME TICKETS NOW ON SALE: Chivas USA has announced that single-game tickets for Chivas USA's 2009 Major League Soccer campaign are now on sale. For as low as $15 per game, soccer fans can support the Red-and-White at the world-class The Home Depot Center, as Chivas USA looks to qualify for the MLS Cup playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. All of Chivas USA's 15 home games are now on sale by calling 1-877-CHIVAS-1 or by visiting cdchivasusa.com. Chivas USA is also offering an unbeatable All-Star Pack, a five-game ticket package starting at just $50 that includes the best Major League Soccer matches in Los Angeles during the 2009 MLS season. The All-Star Pack allows fans to see the Honda Super Clásico against intra-city rivals LA Galaxy (July 11) as well as Chivas USA's games against the Chicago Fire (May 28) and the expansion Seattle Sounders FC (April 18). Fans also get Opening Day versus the Colorado Rapids (March 21) and Closing Day against the Houston Dynamo (Oct. 25).

ANTE RAZOV UNDERGOES MINOR KNEE SURGERY: Chivas USA forward Ante Razov underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last week. The procedure, to remove loose bodies from the forward's knee, was performed by Head Team Physician Michael Gerhardt MD last Tuesday in Santa Monica. Razov had previously undergone surgery on his right ankle on Jan. 30, and is still expected to return within eight to 12 weeks from the time of the original surgery. The Los Angeles native is Chivas USA's all-time leading scorer and is in second place on the all-time league scoring charts with 114 goals in 13 MLS seasons, dating back to the league's inaugural year in 1996.

CHIVAS USA TOPS HAMMARBY IF IN PRESEASON SCRIMMAGE: With goals from defender Jim Curtin and trialist Eduardo Lillingston, Chivas USA captured a 2-0 victory over Hammarby IF of the Swedish First Division on Saturday at The Home Depot Center. Zach Thornton and Lance Parker combined to keep the clean sheet in net for the Red-and-White, who improve their preseason record to 3-1-1, with a match coming this Sunday against the Ventura County Fusion of the PDL. The club will also face the San Jose Earthquakes on March 4, with the 2009 MLS regular season kicking off for Chivas USA on Saturday, March 21, at home against the Colorado Rapids. 2009 CHIVAGIRLS SQUAD ANNOUNCED ON CDCHIVASUSA.COM: After a successful tryout on Sunday, Feb. 15 at The Home Depot Center, the 2009 ChivaGirls squad was named on cdchivasusa.com. CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA UPDATE: Chivas de Guadalajara battled to a 1-1 draw against Morelia on the road this past Saturday, giving the team a 2-2-3 record (W-L-T) through the first seven matches of the 2009 Clausura season. Sergio Amaury Ponce scored Guadalajara's only goal, heading home a cross from captain Ramón Morales in the 9th minute of the match, but Morelia answered back with a penalty kick in the 64th minute. With nine points, Chivas now sits tied for second place in a tight Group 2, where all six teams are separated by just three points. Chivas will now return home to the Estadio Jalisco, hosting Pachuca on Saturday, Feb. 28.
