San Jose Earthquakes News Release
The Earthquakes return to the Bay Area this week after their trip to Fresno, where they defeated the Fresno Fuego of the PDL 6-0 on Friday. The Quakes will be training at Santa Clara in preparation for an exhibition game against the Colorado Rapids on Friday, February 27 at Buck Shaw Stadium. They will also play a mid-week exhibition against Cal in Santa Clara.

Earthquakes to Host Colorado Rapids at Buck Shaw Stadium
The Earthquakes will play their first preseason game at Buck Shaw Stadium when they face the Colorado Rapids on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 pm PT. Season ticket holders can attend this match free of charge; they may also pick up their Darren Huckerby bobble head. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling 1-800-225-2277 or online at sjearthquakes.com. All tickets are general admission and the ticket price for non-season ticket holders is $10.
Media Credentials for Match Against the Colorado Rapids
Media members that would like credentials to cover the San Jose Earthquakes vs. Colorado Rapids game on Friday, Feb. 27 should contact Flor Rivera at frivera@sjearthquakes.com or 408 556-7705. Media members can pick up their credential at the North Gate of Buck Shaw Stadium two hours prior to the game.
Quakes Knock of Fresno Fuego
The Earthquakes won their third preseason game on Friday, Feb. 20 with a 6-0 victory over the Fresno Fuego at Chukchansi Park. Ryan Johnson scored the first goal, while Arturo Alvarez netted a pair of goals. Darren Huckerby, Cam Weaver and Pablo Campos added the other three goals.
Ryan Johnson Scores For the Third Time in a Row
Ryan Johnson scored for the third game in a row, after scoring the first goal in the 6-0 victory over the Fuego on Friday, Feb. 20. On Feb. 13, Johnson scored two first-half goals against the Seattle Sounders and on Feb. 15 he scored a goal against the Houston Dynamo.
Pablo Campos Scores First Goal for Quakes
Former Fuego player Pablo Campos scored his first goal in an Earthquakes uniform on Friday night against his old team, the Fresno Fuego. In the 70th minute Campos broke away from a few defenders and shot the ball past the Fuego goalkeeper. The Earthquakes won the rights to the Brazilian forward through a weighted Major League Soccer lottery. Campos had signed a multi-year contract with MLS and was assigned to the Quakes via the lottery.
Earthquakes Sign 2009 Third Round Pick Quincy Amarikwa
The Earthquakes announced last week that the team signed its third round (32nd overall) draft pick in the 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, Quincy Amarikwa. Amarikwa will occupy a spot on the Earthquakes senior roster. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Bakersfield native has been training with the Earthquakes since preseason started, four weeks ago. He scored his first goal in an Earthquakes uniform in a preseason game against Seattle on Friday, Feb. 13.

The San Jose Earthquakes have played three of their nine scheduled preseason matches so far, earning wins over Seattle Sounders FC, the Houston Dynamo and Fresno Fuego. Ryan Johnson leads the team in goals in preseason with five in the first three matches. Below is the team's full preseason schedule:

Individual tickets for all 2009 San Jose Earthquakes home games are now on sale. Tickets for the much anticipated 2009 campaign are available online at sjearthquakes.com or by calling (800) 225-2277. Prices range from $20-$70 per ticket.
Season Tickets on Sale Now
Season tickets are on sale now for the 2009 Earthquakes season. The season-ticket package consists of 17 games, 15 regular season matches and two bonus matches. Prices begin at $306 and all packages offer significant savings off the regular price.
