Chivas USA to face New York Red Bulls Saturday

CARSON, California (Friday, April 28, 2006) - Chivas USA (1-2-0, 3 pts, 5th place in Western Conference) will play its fourth game of the 2006 Major League Soccer season, against the New York Red Bulls (0-0-3, 3 pts, 5th place in Eastern Conference), on Saturday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. at The Home Depot Center (TV: Azteca América; Radio: KTNQ 1020 AM; Web: www.cdchivasusa.com; Pregame shows start at 6:30 p.m.). Chivas USA will be celebrating 'El Día del Niño' (Children's Day), and the first 10,000 children 12 and under to arrive at the stadium will receive a special gift courtesy of Disneyland Resort. ChivaTown will also feature special halftime activities with games, music and entertainment for all kids. In addition, Guadalajara vs. Toluca, Chivas Guadalajara's last game of the Mexican regular season, decisive for playoff qualification, will be shown on the stadium's big screen starting at 5:00 p.m. (Doors open at 4:45 p.m.)

The New York Red Bulls arrived Thursday in Southern California and trained Friday morning at The Home Depot Center. The team comes armed with all its stars including French international and World Cup champion Youri Djorkaeff, as well as Honduran international Amado Guevara and Southern California product Marvell Wynne. In their previous two matches against New York (formerly known as the MetroStars), Chivas USA finished with one loss and one tie. Paco Palencia is Chivas USA's all-time goalscoring leader in the series, with two tallies.
