
Real Salt Lake surpasses 6,000 season tickets

SALT LAKE CITY (Friday, April 28, 2006) - Real Salt Lake today announced that it is has surpassed 6,000 season tickets for its 2006 campaign, exceeding its staggering 2005 inaugural Major League Soccer season ticket sales of 5,000, and continues to push to add more season ticket holders by the MLS deadline on June 1.
"We have a phenomenal launch to our second year here in Salt Lake City, and I'm extremely proud of our front office and sales team as well as the entire state of Utah for being so supportive of Real Salt Lake," said Senior Director of Sales Chris Keeney. "Our group sales are exploding as well and the future just gets brighter as we move towards the new stadium in Sandy. Soccer is truly a first love for this region and Real Salt Lake is proud to be soccer's champion in Utah."
RSL has experienced a 20% growth since last year, renewing over 80% of last year's season ticket holders. Real currently ranks third in total revenue in all of MLS behind the Los Angeles Galaxy (1st) and the Chicago Fire (2nd). Fans can help RSL reach its goal by purchasing full season, half season, the "High-Five" pack and flex season plans.
800 KFC® Colonel's Corner TICKETS REDEEMED FOR HOME OPENER: RSL today announced that over 800 $12 KFC® Colonel's Corner tickets were redeemed at its box office prior to RSL's 1-1 tie against the New York Red Bulls on April 15. RSL and KFC® launched this exclusive sponsorship and ticket distribution agreement on Feb. 14, and KFC® began selling the $12 vouchers at its 36 restaurants in Utah on March 15. These $12 KFC® Colonel's Corner vouchers are the most affordable tickets available for every RSL game and KFC® is the only place to get them.
RSL TO BATTLE THE OGDEN OUTLAWS: RSL will take on the USL Premier Development League Ogden Outlaws at Ogden High School (2828 Harrison Blvd) on Tuesday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. MT. The expansion Outlaws kick off their 2006 season on Saturday, May 13 against Brigham Young University.
"The Outlaws are an important addition to the Utah soccer scene - and we hope this match is a great showcase for their fans and players," said RSL General Manager Steve Pastorino.

RSL'S INAUGURAL "VIP ENTERTAINMENT SERIES" CONTinUES: RSL is proud to announce that KUTV Channel 2 Vice President and General Manager Dave Phillips will headline the second edition of VIP Entertainment Series. Exclusively for VIP, Suite & Club Season Seat Holders, and starting one hour before every home game, RSL will host a special guest in the Olympic Visitors Center at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Designed to be an exciting pre-game destination, the VIP Series will feature a wide variety of speakers, musicians and local celebrities - with unique insights or connections to Real Salt Lake.
The VIP Series will take place in the Olympic Visitor Center Gallery and Museum, located at the Southwest corner of the stadium adjacent to the main box office off of 500 South. JERRY SEINER / RSL COACHES SHOW ON KALL 700 AM: RSL invites fans to join RSL players, coaches and front office staff at the Jerry Seiner Salt Lake dealership's Iceberg Café located at 1530 South 500 West every Thursday for the weekly "Jerry Seiner/RSL Coaches Show" at 6:00 p.m. MT. The KALL 700 Bill Riley Show will broadcast LIVE each week at Jerry Seiner Salt Lake from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. MT, with Coach Ellinger and RSL personalities featured during the final hour. Last night's guests included RSL and US Men's National Team DF Eddie Pope, GK Noah Palmer and MD Christian Jimenez.
Each week, fans can compete against players, coaches and each other in the X-BOX FIFA 2006 Challenge. Supporters will compete to qualify to play in the Carnival Real X-BOX competition at every home game, where an X-BOX will be given away to the most outstanding player. RSL's next 2006 X-BOX FIFA Challenge will be Saturday, April 29 at Carnival Real when RSL takes on the Los Angeles Galaxy at Rice-Eccles Stadium at 2:00 p.m. MT. Carnival Real opens at 1:00 p.m.
