Azteca América to broadcast five Chivas USA games nationwide

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, April 28, 2006) - Major League Soccer club Chivas USA announced today an agreement with Spanish-language television network Azteca América to televise five of the Red-and-White's 2006 regular season games live nationwide, starting with Chivas USA's next home match this Saturday, April, 29 against the New York Red Bulls, starting at 7:00 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California (pregame 6:30 p.m.).

"We are pleased to announce that Chivas USA fans across the United States will be able to watch their team this season on Azteca América. We look forward to working with our friends at Azteca América to produce compelling Chivas USA broadcasts in 2006," said Chivas USA Senior Vice President and General Manager Whit Haskel.

For second season in a row, Azteca América will be Chivas USA's official Spanish-language television broadcast partner, following the 2005 campaign, when local affiliate KAZA 54 was the home to the Red-and-White. In addition to the match against the New York Red Bulls, Azteca America will carry the following four Chivas USA games: June 11 at FC Dallas from Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas; July 4 at Real Salt Lake from Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah; July 21 at Colorado Rapids from INVESCO Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado; and September 17 at Houston Dynamo from Robertson Stadium in Houston, Texas. In addition to broadcasts of Chivas USA's regular-season games, KAZA Azteca 54 is also home to Chivas USA's official weekly program, 'Somos Chivas USA,' which airs Saturdays from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. PT.
