Chivas USA draws first blood in cross-border clásico with 1-0 win over Club América

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, March 23, 2005) - Chivas USA claimed first blood with a 1-0 victory over Chivas' archrival Club América in its very first cross-border 'clásico'. The match was played at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez in the border city of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico.

The game's only goal was scored by Ezra Hendrickson, who headed in a Francisco Gómez corner kick in the 23rd minute.

On Thursday, Chivas USA departs El Paso International Airport on Southwest Airlines # 219 (depart 10:20 a.m. MT) and arrives at LAX at 11:20 a.m. PT, before returning to The Home Depot Center for a one-hour training session starting at 12:30 p.m.
