CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, July 22, 2010) - Chivas USA defender and captain Jonathan Bornstein will be forced to sit out for two weeks as he rehabilitates a knee injury suffered on Sunday, July 18, during the SuperLiga match against the Houston Dynamo. Bornstein was substituted after receiving a foul from Houston's Andrew Hainault at the 23rd minute of the match.

Bornstein's injury will prevent him from playing on Saturday against Western Conference rivals Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium. In addition to Saturday's game, Bornstein will miss the MLS All-Star Game against 2009 English Premier League champion Manchester United on July 28, at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2, TeleFutura). MLS All-Star Coach Bruce Arena has selected Bobby Convey of the San Jose Earthquakes to replace Bornstein on the roster.

Chivas USA travels to face Real Salt Lake this Saturday, July 24, at 7:00 p.m. PT in a match that will be broadcast live on Prime Ticket, KWHY and W Radio. The Red-and-White will then return home to face the Columbus Crew at The Home Depot Center on Saturday, July 31.
