Chivas USA Acquires Defender Bobby Burling

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, July 6, 2012) - Chivas USA has acquired Bobby Burling, a defender on his sixth MLS season, in a trade with Montreal Impact, in exchange of one International Roster Slot for the 2013 Season starting January 1, 2013. The International Roster Slot will return to Chivas USA on January 1, 2014. Per League and team policy, details of the contract were not revealed.

Burling, 27, Clear Lake City, Texas native was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2007 supplemental draft. The Loyola Marymount Alumni was then signed by Chivas USA three months later where he made 23 appearances through the 2007-2009 seasons. Burling than played with the San Jose Earthquakes before being picked in the 2011 MLS Expansion Draft by the Montreal Impact.

The Red-and-White now look forward to their third consecutive unbeaten match as they host Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Saturday, July 7, at 7:30 pm (PT) at The Home Depot Center.
