Chivas USA acquires allocation money, 2010 SuperDraft pick in trade with LA Galaxy

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, July 1, 2009) - Chivas USA today acquired allocation money and a conditional 2010 SuperDraft pick in a trade with the LA Galaxy. In exchange, Chivas USA sent forward Alecko Eskandarian to the Galaxy.

"This move allows us greater flexibility in terms of our roster and salary budget," said Chivas USA Head Coach Preki. "We would like to thank Alecko for his contributions to our club. We wish him the best."

Eskandarian, 26, joined Chivas USA on Jan. 10, 2008 in a trade with Real Salt Lake. The forward made a total of 18 regular-season appearances (10 starts) for the Red-and-White in two seasons, including 7 appearances (2 starts) so far in 2009.

TRANSACTION: Chivas USA receives allocation money and a conditional 2010 SuperDraft pick from the LA Galaxy in exchange for forward Alecko Eskandarian.
