Chihuahuas Spoil Fourth for Salt Lake

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Salt Lake Bees 11-10 Wednesday night at Smith's Ballpark in the opener of a five-game series. The victory moved El Paso into first place, one game ahead of second place Salt Lake.

Luis Urias went 4-for-5 with a walk and two RBIs, including an RBI triple in the top of the 11th inning to put El Paso ahead. The Bees had a chance to win in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 10th when they loaded the bases with no outs, but Chihuahuas' reliever Rowan Wick got three consecutive outs to preserve the tie.

Forrestt Allday went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, his second homer in as many games and the fifth of his professional career. The Chihuahuas and Bees are now both 2-2 in extra-inning games this season. The Chihuahuas are now 4-1 all-time on the Fourth of July, with three of the wins coming in Salt Lake.
