Lawrenceville, GA - For the third straight game the Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, picked up a shutout win over the Gwinnett Braves and on Saturday it was by a score of 2-0. Matt Chico earned the win, Mike MacDougal the save, and Chris Duncan provided all the offense for the Chiefs with a two-run home run in the second inning.

Syracuse (41-29) got its only runs from Chris Duncan in the second inning on his seventh home run of the season. After a Chase Lambin leadoff single, Duncan pulled a Jair Jurrjens pitch over the right field wall to put the Chiefs ahead. Duncan's last home run came on June 6th.

Jason Bergmann, Atahualpa Severino, Ron Villone, and Mike MacDougal all pitched two thirds of an inning or less. Josh Wilkie pitched a complete inning. Mike MacDougal earned the save, his first as a Chief.
