Chiefs Set Franchise Record With Win

Johnstown, PA- J.F. Boutin's power play goal at 12:49 of the third period broke a 2-2 tie, as the Johnstown Chiefs defeated the Reading Royals 4-2, Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. The win was the Chiefs 22nd home win this season a franchise record. The 1993-94 team won 21 games, in a 68 game season. This was the Chiefs 65th game of the year.

Eric Schneider had two goals including an empty net goal, and Jim Leger also tallied for Johnstown. Dean Stock scored both of Reading's goals.

Chiefs goaltender Frederic Deschenes made 29 saves for his 23rd win of the season, while Reading goaltender Ken Carroll made 22 saves for his 12th loss of the season.

The Chiefs improve their record to 34-29-2, while the Royals fall to 26-30-9.

The Chiefs will hit the road Wednesday night for the first game of a five game, ten day road trip when they visit the Toledo Storm. The Chiefs next home game will be on March 30th at 7:30 p.m. when they take on the Greensboro Generals.
