Chiefs Holding a Fans Pick the Theme Contest

PEORIA, IL- When the 2011 Peoria Chiefs promotional schedule was announced in March, Saturday September 3 was designated as "Fans Pick the Theme Night" along with a post-game fireworks show. Now is the time for the fans to choose that theme night.
The Chiefs are asking all fans to submit their ideas for the theme night in 200 words or less to feedback@chiefsnet.com before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12. The Chiefs front office staff will then select the five best ideas and from Monday, August 15 until Monday, August 22 fans can vote on the Chiefs' website for their favorite idea of the final five. The winner will be announced on August 22 and the person who submits the winning idea will receive four tickets to the September 3 game, $40 in Chiefs Cash and will join the promo staff on field for pre-game recognition and a ceremonial first pitch.
Fans are asked to submit any theme nights that have not already been held in the 2011 season and they are encouraged to be as creative as possible. Fans should take into account that staff will need music, video, between inning games and possibly even costumes to go along with their ideas.
Following the 6:30 p.m. September 3 game against the Quad Cities River Bandits there will be a Pitch-In for Charity Tennis Ball Toss and then the final Fireworks show of the season. September 3 is also the final night game of the season and kicks off a three-game series against the River Bandits, the Midwest League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
