Chiefs drop matinee 5-3 to Toledo

Toledo, Ohio (November 1, 2006) - The Johnstown Chiefs lost to the Toledo Storm 5-3 today.

The Storm scored first in the contest, when Richard Colwill beat Chiefs goaltender Jonathan Boutin to the glove side with a one-timer off of a pass from Andrew Martin just 53 seconds into the first period.

Nine minutes later, Randy Rowe would tie the game for the Chiefs when his wrist shot fluttered off the glove of Toledo goaltender Logan Koopmans and trickled into the net.

Nick Parillo would give Toledo a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal at 14:14 of the first when he tipped a shot by Gerry Burke past Boutin.

Toledo would increase their lead to 3-1 on Matt Zultek's power-play goal at 10:44 of the second period, picking up the rebound of Jamie Tardif's shot. Andrew Martin would make it 4-1 at 16:22, one-timing Tardif's pass by Boutin.

Jean Desrochers would put the Chiefs back in the game with a power-play goal at 5:41 of the third period. Doug Andress' power-play marker with Boutin off for the extra attacker at 18:27 cut Toledo's lead to one, but Jamie Tardif would pot an empty-netter for the Storm with 38 seconds left to seal the Toledo victory.
