Heshka assigned to Salmon Kings by Moose and Canucks

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that 21-year-old Defenseman Shaun Heshka has been assigned to the Salmon Kings by the Moose while under contract with the Canucks.
Heshka, a native of Melleville, Saskatchewan was signed by the Canucks on July 24, 2006 and has played two games for the Moose this season.
The 6-foot-1, 195-lb Defenseman spent one season in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) with the Melleville Millionaires and scored 20 points (6 goals, 14 assists) in 53 games. In 2003, Heshka shifted to the Western Hockey League (WHL) and played three seasons for the Everett Silvertips.
In 204 regular season games with the Silvertips, he garnered 107 points (25 goals, 82 assists) and 137 penalty minutes. In his most prolific season (2005-06), Heshka was second in the league in points by a defenseman during the regular season (59 points in 53 games) and was ranked third in the league in scoring by a defenseman during the 2006 playoffs (13 points in 14 games).
Heshka will travel with the Salmon Kings to Las Vegas this Thursday.
The Salmon Kings play a three-game series versus the Wranglers on Nov 3, 4 and 7, before returning home to battle the Fresno Falcons for a Thursday-Saturday-Sunday series starting Nov 9. After the game on Sunday Nov 12, fans can make a donation to the Victoria Salmon Kings Booster Club to enjoy a half-hour skate with their favourite Salmon Kings players on the ice at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
