Johnstown Chiefs News Release

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The holidays are upon us and the Chiefs want you to come out and share in the joy at the UPMC Health Plan Ice Rink at the Cambria County War Memorial.

Tomorrow night the Chiefs take on the Reading Royals at 7:05 and they'll be trying to win their 11th straight home game against their in-state rivals. Come out to cheer them on by taking advantage of our Wendy's Wednesday Family Four Pack offer. For just $44 you can get four tickets, hot dogs, drinks, and boxes of popcorn! You can order in advance by calling the Chiefs front office at 814-539-1799 or you can buy yours the night of the game at the War Memorial Box Office. Also, in honor of the Bishop McCort Crushers advancing to the state football championships in Class A, the Chiefs are offering $5 tickets to all McCort students, faculty, and alumni on Wednesday night.

To close out this week's home slate, the Chiefs will host the expansion Toledo Walleye on Friday, December 18 at 7:05. It will be a special night with the Chiefs holding a donation drive to benefit Brent's Band-Aids. Brent's Band-Aids is a charity, started by 7-year-old Brent Swaltek of Richland, that collects cartoon-themed boxes of band-aids and donates them to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. Brent started the charity this past summer after finding out that the hospital had no cartoon band-aids to give him after one of his treatments, and to date has donated over 1,000 boxes of band-aids. The Chiefs are proud to offer one free child's ticket for every box of band-aids that is donated at the game. There is no limit on how many tickets you can get with this offer!

After a brief break for Christmas, the Chiefs will be right back out on the ice on Saturday, December 26 against the Trenton Devils at 7:05. That night the Chiefs will be honoring area youth hockey players with a special ticket offer. Every youth player that wears his or her jersey to the Chiefs game, can get a free kid's ticket while their parents can get tickets for just $8 that night.

To close out 2009 the Chiefs will be on home ice for their traditional New Year's Eve game that will feature a special 6:05 start time. Join us as we say goodbye to 2009 and try to usher in 2010 with a win against the Elmira Jackals. Don't forget that groups of 15 or more are eligible for special group discount tickets and preferred seating based on availability. Tickets are going fast so be sure to get yours today.
