STICK IT TO BREAST CANCER

The Chicago Wolves host Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Sunday. Fans are encouraged to join Wolves coaches, players and staff in wearing pink attire in a show of solidarity in the fight against cancer. "Stick It To Breast Cancer" shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags and autographed pucks will be available online and in-arena for a donation to support the cause. In addition, Wolves players will use special pink sticks during warmups. Each stick will be autographed and made available for a $175 donation. Proceeds benefit A Silver Lining Foundation and Chicago Wolves Charities.

WOLVES HEADLINERS

- TY RATTIE: Continues to carry a hot stick, having scored goals in three straight games. The Wolves' leading scorer (4G, 3A) is tied for second place in AHL scoring and sports the third-most goals in the circuit. Now in his third season with the Wolves, RATTIE owns 56 goals in 134 career games and is three points shy of reach 100 points in AHL play

- PAT CANNONE: The Wolves captain lent a helping hand this weekend, registering four assists and finishing with a plus-5 rating. The longest-tenured Wolves player, Cannone appeared in his 125th game for Chicago on Friday

- ANDRE BENOIT: An alternate captain, BENOIT is averaging 1.6 points per game, ranking as the fourth-leading scorer among AHL defensemen. The owner of two Calder Cup rings, BENOIT sports the second-best plus/minus rating (plus-4) on the team

- PETER HARROLD: A veteran of 274 NHL games, HARROLD patrols the blueline alongside ANDRE BENOIT, giving Chicago a steady presence on defense. HARROLD lit the lamp for the first time this season on a blistering shot from the right faceoff circle in Friday's loss to Texas

- PETTERI LINDBOHM (pronounced "Lind-boom"): The second-year Wolves defenseman has lived up to his name with his crushing hits on opponents. He leveled two Texas Stars players on Friday and has applied pressure on netminders this season with a team-high nine shots on goal. LINDBOHM is one of nine players on the Wolves roster with NHL experience, having appeared in 23 games with St. Louis

- SCOOTER VAUGHAN: Signed by the Wolves during the offseason, VAUGHAN became the 16th player since 2005-06 to score a goal in his Wolves debut. VAUGHAN ripped a loose puck in the slot in Saturday's 9-5 win over Charlotte. VAUGHAN was paired with KONRAD ABELTSHAUSER, who broke into the lineup this weekend for his first games in a Wolves sweater

- IVAN BARBASHEV: The first-year pro turned in a career-best three point game (G, 2A) on Saturday, logging a plus-3. BARBASHEV won his first faceoff of the night, drawing the puck cleanly to TY RATTIE for a quick strike. BARBASHEV is averaging over a point per game, a feat he accomplished his last two seasons of junior hockey at Moncton. He also stands seventh in AHL rookie scoring

- JORDAN BINNINGTON: Remains unbeaten on the season, logging his second win with a 23-save performance against Charlotte. BINNINGTON sports a 28-16-4 record regular season record with the Wolves

- JORDAN CARON: Earned his first points of the season on Saturday, producing the game-winning goal as part of a two-point (G, A) night. CARON saw NHL action last season with Boston and Colorado, appearing in 30 games combined

WOLF TRACKS

- Chicago makes its road debut this Friday, traveling to Rockford for the first Illinois Lottery Cup clash of the season. Chicago will join Hartford and Toronto as the last remaining AHL teams to play their road openers. The Wolves are beginning their 22nd season by playing six of seven games at Allstate Arena.

- The Wolves have converted on 35.7 percent of their power play opportunities (5 for 14) this season -- the third-highest percentage among the 30 AHL teams.

- The Wolves' nine goals versus Charlotte were a series high in a rivalry that has covered 22 games over five seasons. The offensive explosion also marked the most Wolves goals in a game since January 5, 2011 (a 9-3 win over Toronto).

- Friday's road opener will be carried live by ABC 7 D2 Channel (7.2). The game will also be available in HD on Xfinity (Ch. 217), WOW! (Ch. 219), RCN (Ch. 618), Charter (Ch. 608 and 196) and Mediacom (Ch. 723 and 102).

WOLVES REWIND (2-1-0-0)

Saturday, Oct. 17 (at) Chicago 9, Charlotte 5

- Chicago produced its most goals in a game since January 2011 with a 9-5 victory over Central Division rival Charlotte at the Allstate Arena.

- Five Wolves players recorded three points each: PAT CANNONE (G, 2A), TY RATTIE (G, 2A), MAGNUS PAAJARVI (G, 2A), DANNY KRISTO (G, 2A), MAGNUS PAAJARVI (G, 2A) AND IVAN BARBASHEV (G, 2A)

- Goaltender JORDAN BINNINGTON finished with 23 saves on 28 shots

Friday, Oct. 16 Texas 7, (at) Chicago 3

- Texas scored twice in a span of nine seconds during the second period to break a 2-2 deadlock en route to a 7-3 win over the Wolves at the Allstate Arena.

- PETER HARROLD, DANNY KRISTO and TY RATTIE scored goals for Chicago

- Goaltender PHEONIX COPLEY, making his season debut, stopped 23 of 30 shots he faced

SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALL RIGHT

The Wolves are 2-0-0-0 on Saturday nights and are averaging seven goals a game in two Saturday games played. Those numbers will not change any time soon, as the team is off the next four Saturdays.
