Chicago Wolves News Release

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Former Chicago Wolves goalie Jordan Binnington stopped 25 shots to lead the San Antonio Rampage to a 3-2 win over the Wolves on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Center.

Forwards Curtis McKenzie and Gage Quinney scored in the third period for the Wolves (6-2-0-1), but it wasn't enough to prevent Binnington from earning his 100th win as a professional.

San Antonio (2-8-0-0), which featured seven former Wolves in its lineup, scored three power-play goals. Former Chicago forward Mackenzie MacEachern posted the first and ex-Wolves captain Chris Butler notched two assists.

Trailing 2-0 in the third, Wolves head coach Rocky Thompson pulled goalie Max Lagace with 15 minutes left to give his team a 6-on-4 chance on the power play. The move paid off as McKenzie tipped defenseman Erik Brännström's slapshot from the point to cut the margin to 2-1 at 6:40 of the third.

Klim Kostin answered with a power-play goal to give San Antonio a 3-1 lead with 10 minutes to play. Quinney delivered the Wolves' first short-handed goal of the year with 4:55 remaining to slash the margin to one again.

Thompson pulled Lagace again with 2:28 to play and the Wolves hammered away in the offensive zone for nearly the entire time, but couldn't come up with the equalizer.

Lagace (3-2-0) finished with 17 saves for the Wolves.

The Wolves stay on the road to face the Manitoba Moose at 7 p.m. Friday. Head coach Rocky Thompson's team returns home Saturday, Nov. 10, for an Illinois Lottery Cup clash with the Rockford IceHogs. To find the best ticket deals, visit ChicagoWolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
