Chicago Storm News Release

Chicago (Monday, November 8, 2004) – The expansion Chicago Storm of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) will head back on the road this weekend when they travel east on Saturday to square off against the 2004 MISL champion Baltimore Blast at 6:35 p.m. CT at the 1st Mariner Arena. Immediately following the game, the "Yellow and Black" will board a bus and head to Philadelphia for Sunday afternoon showdown against the Philadelphia KiXX at 12:05 p.m. CT at the Wachovia Center. Both games can be heard live on www.chicagostorm.net as Storm play-by-play announcer Kenn Tomasch calls the action.

Scoring Streaks: Storm Forward Byron Alvarez extended his scoring streak to four games after the team's 9-5 loss to Cleveland on Saturday afternoon. The Mexico City native tallied his fourth goal in as many games on Saturday after Storm midfielder Ryan Futagaki connected with Alvarez 5:36 into the second quarter. Prior to Saturday's game, Alvarez scored his first goal of the season, as well as the team's first goal in history, on October 23, when the Storm hosted Milwaukee for their inaugural season home opener. He then proceeded to score one goal in a 9-8 victory on October 29 in Milwaukee, and netted another goal the following Wednesday in a 6-5 victory over Cleveland at home. Alvarez will look to extend his scoring streak to five games this weekend against the Baltimore Blast.

Back Home: After the Storm's next two road games this weekend, the team will return to Chicago for a November 26th encounter with the Milwaukee Wave at 7:30 p.m. CT at the UIC Pavilion. This will be the very first televised home game in Chicago Storm history that can be seen on Comcast SportsNet. The game will be the third installment of the I-94 rivalry that has developed early this season with each team taking one win at the other's home opener. The Storm dropped an 8-3 result to the Wave in their inaugural game on October 23. The Storm returned the favor with a thrilling 9-8 overtime win at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee.

Chicago Storm season ticket packages are priced at $190, $240, $340 and $400. Packages include an inaugural team autographed soccer ball, discounted parking, exclusive pre-season practice with the team, a mid-season autograph session with the team, ticket redemption for unused tickets, 20% discount on merchandise through the Storm, the first opportunity to purchase playoff tickets, and much more. Double Trouble: In two games against Cleveland last week, two Storm players recorded two goals in one game. One came last Wednesday, as Storm forward Chris Carrieri bagged two goals, including the game-winner, helping him earn Player of the Game honors after the "Yellow and Black" defeated the Force 6-5. On Saturday afternoon, Storm midfielder Matt Stewart netted two goals in a 9-5 loss to the Force at the Convocation Center.
