March 27, 2014 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)
Chicago Sky News Release
CHICAGO - Single-game tickets for the 2014 Chicago Sky regular season will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, April 1, beginning at 11 a.m. CST. Individual lower bowl tickets start at $15 per game and groups (10 or more) can save up to $8 per ticket.
This season the Sky's 17-game home schedule features a May 16 season opener against Eastern Conference rival Indiana Fever and a Memorial Day matchup with the defending WNBA Champion Minnesota Lynx. Fans can watch the "Big Three" in their sophomore seasons when Skylar Diggins and the Tulsa Shock visit Chicago on June 22 and Brittney Griner's Phoenix Mercury look to avenge last year's Elena Delle Donne buzzer-beater on July 11.
In total, the Sky's schedule features seven nationally televised games, the most of any season to-date. In 2013, TV viewership of WNBA games on ESPN 2 reached its highest level since 2005 and the Sky saw a 29.0% increase in attendance, the largest gain by any WNBA franchise.
"We have great anticipation for the 2014 season. We look forward to growing both our on-court and off-court performance as we continue to build off the best season in franchise history," said Sky President & CEO Adam Fox. "We are excited to showcase our world-class athletes and keep evolving the Sky experience for our fans."
Theme night games on the 2014 schedule include: Pride Night, Police and Fire Night, Gospel Night, Hoops for Troops and Breast Health Awareness/Ladies Night. In addition to theme nights, the Sky offers a wide range of fan experience to give sports enthusiasts the unique opportunity to get their group in the game, and on the court. Groups can register to high five the Sky players, deliver the game ball to the referee, play on the same court as the Sky or sing the National Anthem. All fan experiences include discounted ticket pricing and in-arena recognition.
Sky games make for great company outings as well. From the Sky Deck, adult fans can enjoy a great night of basketball and all-inclusive food and drinks. Tickets for the Sky Deck start as low as $30 each and can be purchased for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games throughout the season.
You won't want to miss the home opener on May 16 when 2013 WNBA Rookie of the Year, Elena Delle Donne, returns to the court against an Indiana Fever team in a rematch of last year's playoff series. Delle Donne and the Chicago Sky enter the 2014 season on a mission to REDEFINE POSSIBLE in pursuit of the franchise's first WNBA title.
With flexible ticket packages, fans can make the Sky's schedule revolve around their own. Tickets can be purchased in 1 game, 5 game, 9 game (half season) and 17 game (full season) increments.
