Chicago Sky Sign 2022 Magellan Youth Player of the Day Tatiana Beard

CHICAGO - The Chicago Sky and Magellan Corporation are Proud to Partner with the USO of Illinois to provide a child of a military family the opportunity to spend the day as a member of the Chicago Sky as an appreciation for the great sacrifice of our military members across the world. This year, we are proud to welcome Tatiana Nicole Beard, age 14, from Darien, Illinois. The Sky, in partnership with Magellan Corporation and USO Illinois, will host Beard and her family for the day.
Tatiana comes from a dual military family: her mom and stepdad are both in the Army and her stepdad is currently deployed in Kuwait. She recently graduated from Cass Junior High and will attend Hinsdale South High School this fall. Tatiana enjoys dancing, acting, running, skiing, swimming, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family. Tatiana is proud and happy to educate others on the military's incredible service and sacrifice.
Tatiana's parents, First Sergeant (1SG) Karen Fittanto and First Sergeant David Fittanto, are both currently serving in leadership roles in the military. 1SG Karen Fittanto has served honorably for 16 years and currently assigned to the Army Reserve at the 85th Support Command Headquarters in Arlington Heights, IL, serving as First Sergeant. 1SG David Fittanto has served honorably for 26 years and is currently assigned to the 485th Engineer Company in Arlington Heights as the First Sergeant. 1SG David Fittanto is currently deployed to Kuwait and responsible for over 100 Soldiers with some troops in Iraq.
The Chicago Sky will sign Beard to a one-day contract on June 5, 2022, when the Sky hosts the Washington Mystics at Wintrust Arena for a Commissioner's Cup Game. Tatiana will be transported by limousine to the arena, receive a jersey, a one-day contract, an introduction to Sky players, photos with the team and will take in the game from the Chicago Sky bench. She will also join the Sky on Sunday for pregame warm-ups, accompany the team in the locker room and will be introduced as a player in the Starting Five lineup.
