Chicago Sky News Release
CHICAGO - The Chicago Sign have signed center/forward Tina Krajišnik and guard Kathleen Doyle to their 2022 training camp roster, Sky General Manager James Wade announced today.
"Tina is a seasoned vet overseas - a staple of her Serbian national team who has been playing for a long time in different countries," Wade said. "We think that Tina is someone who is going to push our players as she looks to gain a spot. We expect a lot from her, being a vet, and are very satisfied with what we have seen her accomplish this season and in previous years."
Krajišnik, a 6'3" Serbian player, has been playing professionally since 2006, for 16 years in various countries, most notably for the Serbian national team. Krajišnik is currently competing for the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup with Turkey's Galatasaray, where she is contributing an average of 16.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
Kathleen Doyle, a La Grange Park native, is also spending the WNBA offseason in Turkey, playing professionally for Bursa BSB in the Turkish Women's Basketball League. Doyle was drafted by the Indiana Fever out of the University of Iowa in the second round (14th) of the 2020 WNBA Draft.
"Kathleen is someone who came into the league and has always been a player that played hard and gave it her all," Wade said. "Being a local prospect who has grown up this area and appreciated this franchise, we've paid attention to her improvements overseas and her great work ethic, so we thought it was only fitting to invite her to training camp and give her the opportunity to earn a spot."
The 5'9" guard is two-time state champ at Benet Academy and was 2020's Big Ten Player of the Year. Doyle, 23, appeared in 18 games with the Fever in the 2020 season, averaging 1.5 points and 1.1 assists in 8.5 minutes per game. This season with Bursa BSB, Doyle has recorded 237 points in 16 games as a team starter, averaging 14.8 points and 4.2 assists in more than 30 minutes per game.
The Chicago Sky's 2022 training camp roster now stands at 14 players.
