
Chicago Red Stars Welcome Back World Cup Stars

CHICAGO, Ill. (July 10, 2015) - The Chicago Red Stars invite fans and media in welcoming back the team's eight FIFA Women's World Cup players, including four World Champion Americans, in their next home match on Saturday, July 18 at 7:00 pm CT at the Village of Lisle - Benedictine University Sports Complex in Lisle, Illinois.
The team will have a post game ceremony honoring all eight of their Women's World Cup players. They include four U.S. Women's National Team and FIFA Women's World Cup Champions: Julie Johnston, Christen Press, Lori Chalupny and Shannon Boxx, as well as Canadian National Team players Karina LeBlanc, Melissa Tancredi and Adriana Leon and New Zealand captain Abby Erceg.
The match will also feature a Fan Zone where attendees can take pictures with life-size U.S. National Team player cutouts and sign the welcome home banner to be presented at the end of the match. There will also be a halftime t-shirt toss with limited edition USA - Red Stars Nike shirts. Furthermore, the first 200 fans through the gates will receive a limited edition NWSL poster featuring the 23 U.S. Women's National Team players in their club uniforms and the first 500 guests will receive a complimentary bottle of BODY ARMOR Super Drink.
As the team's annual Pride Night is also taking place this evening, there will be a silent auction for custom Red Stars Pride warm-up tops which will be worn by the entire team. Fans will have an opportunity to bid on the pre-game worn tops prior to the match and through halftime. A portion of the proceeds will go to Youth Outlook in Naperville, a local non-profit outreach center for LGBTQ youth.
