CHICAGO, Ill. - The Chicago Red Stars, sparked by the return of Mallory Pugh, took down the Orlando Pride by a score of 4-2.
KEY MOMENTS:
10' Sarah Griffith receives a ball in the box as Red Stars bounce it around before Griffith finishes it with a beautiful header, her first regular season goal. 21' Griffith again finds her way into the box, finessing the ball past Orlando's defense, but the shot is saved by Orlando's McLeod 25' Vanessa DiBernardo blasts one towards the goal, but Orlando is able to handle the shot 53' Bianca St-Georges smashes one into the goal with an assist from Pugh seconds after Pugh attempts her own shot on goal 63' Pugh's first regular season goal finds the back of the net with help from Ava Cook, who gets her first regular-season assist 80' Alyssa Naeher shuts down a penalty shot from Leroux 82' Orlando's Turner uses her head to touch one into the goal after a penalty kick 85' Pugh scores her own rebound from a missed penalty kick 86' Orlando's Pruitt answers Pugh's last goal with one of her own GAME NOTES:
Naperville-native Sarah Griffith scored her first NWSL regular-season goal in the first half when she was able to capitalize on a pass from fellow Naperville-native, Vanessa DiBernardo
Four minutes into the second half, midfielder Danny Colaprico notched her 10,000 minute as a Red Star. She joins Vanessa DiBernardo and Arin Wright as the only players to reach 10,000 minutes, all with the club
