
Chicago Red Stars Close out Preseason Play against the Portland Thorns

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Red Stars ended the preseason Friday night with a match against the tournament host Portland Thorns.
Despite a scrappy effort from the Red Stars, Portland's Sam Coffey was able to slot a shot past Alyssa Naeher in the 73rd minute of play and secured the win for the home team with a score of 0-1. The Red Stars end the preseason tournament with a 0-2-1 record.
The team now looks ahead to their first Challenge Cup match against the Houston Dash Sunday, March 20, at 6:00 p.m. CT on Paramount+.
