CHICAGO (Jan. 14, 2014) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Tuesday that the club has re-signed midfielder Yazid Atouba and forward Kellen Gulley. Per MLS and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Selected in the second round (30th overall) by the Fire in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, Atouba made three appearances for the Men in Red during the 2013 season. The Cameroonian Youth International also appeared in the Fire's July 10, 2013 international friendly against Liga MX side Club America.
Gulley re-joins the Fire after spending the 2013 season with the Atlanta Silverbacks of the NASL. A product of the Mississippi Fire Juniors, Gulley became the second Homegrown Player in Fire history on Aug. 11, 2011. The Clinton, Miss., native was named to the U.S. Soccer U-17 Residency Program in January 2010 and earned eight caps at the U-17 level, tallying four goals during international competition in 2009 and 2010.
