Chicago Fire FC News Release

The Chicago Fire (1-0-1, 4 points) return to MLS league play when they head to Seattle to tussle with Seattle Sounders FC (0-2-2, 2 points) at Qwest Field on Saturday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m. CT live on CSN.

The Fire look to remain unbeaten in the early going, while searching for its first win in the Pacific Northwest. The Men in Red have never beaten Sounders FC, going 0-2-2 in four meetings, since the Seattle side joined the league in 2009.

The club's revamped strike trio of Uruguayans Diego Chaves and Gaston Puerari and Guatemalan Marco Pappa will look to continue their hot streak amidst the thousands of Seattle supporters at Qwest Field. Chaves, Puerari and Pappa account for each of the Fire's four goals in 2011.

The Fire remained fit between MLS fixtures, downing the reigning MLS Cup Champion Colorado Rapids 2-1 in a U.S. Open Cup Qualifier at Bradley University's Shea Stadium. Rookie defender Jalil Anibaba's wonder-strike from 40-yards out proved the difference for the Men in Red.
