Chicago Fire FC News Release
CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC today announced a significant expansion to its eSports team, which includes re-signing 2018 eMLS Cup Champion Guillermo "Memo" Treviño and securing the first female gamer to represent a Major League Soccer club in Kacey Anderson. Additionally, the Fire have re-signed professional FIFA players Enrique Espinoza and Edhem Jukovic to represent the Club in all local and FIFA 22 Global Series events.
"I'm excited to return for my second season with the Fire," said Treviño. "I am focused on winning a second eMLS Cup and bringing it home to Chicago. I can't wait for the new season to start and represent this Club."
Returning for his second season with the Fire, Treviño, who plays under the gamertag "Kid M3mito," will represent the Club in the 2022 eMLS season, Major League Soccer's EA SPORTS FIFA eSports competition. In his first year representing the Fire, Treviño finished the 2021 campaign as the number one overall ranked player in the United States and third overall in North America on Xbox. Additionally, Treviño was hailed the Xbox Global Series Qualifier No. 4 Champion. Since entering the FIFA scene, the Houston native has qualified for the 2019 FUT Champions Cup, 2018 FUT Global Series Playoffs qualifier and the 2017 Berlin FUT Championship. Treviño took home the eMLS Cup in 2018 while representing the Houston Dynamo.
"The opportunity to not just represent my city and the Fire, but to be the first woman to sign with an MLS team is a true honor for me," said Anderson. "I would encourage all of the young girls and women to continue to break down barriers and pursue their goals in the fields they are passionate about. I can't wait to get to work with this team that represents all of Chicago."
Anderson, who is the most watched female FIFA streamer in North America this year, is the first woman to sign with an MLS team. Since joining the gaming world in early 2020, Anderson, known as "CHI_Kacee," has accumulated nearly 27,000 followers on Twitch and is an official EA Sports Game Changer and FIFAe ambassador. The Chicago native has been overseeing the Fire's eSports platform since 2018 and now joins the team in an official capacity as a streamer, content creator, and host.
Returning for his fourth season, Espinoza, who plays under the gamertag "BITW7," is a Chicago native who coaches for the Chicago Fire Juniors City youth club. In his debut season as an eMLS competitor, Espinoza earned a top-six finish in the 12-team Eastern Conference and advanced to the knockout stages of the eMLS Cup competition.
Edhem Jukovic, known as "HekTic JukeZ" in the gaming world, represented the Fire in the inaugural eMLS season. Currently, Jukovic ranks in the top eight in North America for the FIFA Global Series on PlayStation 4.
