
Chicago Fire Acquire Spanish Midfielder Victor Perez on Loan

CHICAGO (March 27, 2015) - The Chicago Fire announced Friday that it has acquired midifelder VÃctor Pérez via loan from Spanish Segunda División side Real Valladolid. Per MLS and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We're pleased that we are able to have Victor join us in Chicago," said Fire Head Coach and Director of Soccer Frank Yallop. "He is a dynamic midfielder and fills a postion where we were looking for added depth. The loan is a great oportunity for us to bring in a quality player in the early portion of the season and when the time comes, evaluate our options in regards to extending his stay with the Fire."
Born in Albacete, Spain, Pérez spent time in the Real Madrid and Getafe youth academies and the Getafe and Alcorcón reserves before making his professional debut on Sept. 2, 2008 for the Alcorcón senior side. Pérez scored five goals in 37 matches for Los Alfareros before departing to fellow Spanish side Huesca. From 2009-11, he made 44 appearances, scoring two goals.
In July 2011, Pérez joined Segunda Division side Real Valladolid and appeared in 43 matches and scored six goals, helping the team earn promotion to La Liga in his first season with the side. Pérez made a total of 87 appearances and scored 11 goals before joining Spanish La Liga side Levante UD on loan in the summer of 2014. Pérez made five La Liga and three Copa del Rey appearances for Les Granotes.
