Houston Dynamo FC News Release

The Dynamo played to a 1-1 draw on the road against the LA Galaxy on Saturday as Nathan Sturgis scored his first Dynamo goal. The Rapids played to a 0-0 draw at home against New York City FC on Saturday.

Dynamo head coach Owen Coyle will be without four players versus Colorado due to international call ups. Forward Giles Barnes and defender Jermaine Taylor are with the Jamaica national team for a pair of friendly matches against Venezuela and Cuba. Midfielders Boniek García and Luis Garrido are with the Honduras national team for its 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying playoff against French Guiana. All four players are expected to rejoin the Dynamo ahead of the April 4 road match against Seattle Sounders FC.

Dynamo captain Brad Davis started Saturday's game against the Galaxy to become the first player in club history with 300 appearances in all competitions. In his 300 Dynamo appearances, Davis has amassed 41 goals, 110 assists and 23,582 minutes. Davis has started 275 of the 300 games and served as captain 109 times. Davis, an original Dynamo player in his tenth season with the club, is the longest-tenured player with the same club in MLS.

The Rapids are in their second season under head coach and former U.S. national team midfielder Pablo Mastroeni. The club added several veterans in the offseason, including midfielders Marcelo Sarvas, who won three MLS Cups the last four years with the LA Galaxy, and Sam Cronin (174 games in six MLS seasons) along with defender Michael Harrington (209 games in eight MLS seasons). The veterans join a group of young players including Dillon Powers, the 2013 Rookie of the Year, and 20-year old Homegrown Player Dillon Serna, who took part in the U.S. senior national team camp in January. Colorado signed Argentinian midfielder Juan Ramirez as a young Designated Player and added another Argentinian midfielder, Lucas Pittinari, to its midfield this offseason.

After tomorrow's game, the Dynamo travel to face Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, April 4 at CenturyLink Field. The Dynamo return to Houston to face the Montreal Impact on Saturday, April 11 at BBVA Compass Stadium.
