Chicago Cushions Victory in Ninth Inning Victory

OCONOMOWOC, WI. - The Chicago Dogs took the series opener against the Lake Country DockHounds in Oconomowoc by a score of 11-5.

Jake Snider opened the bottom of the first inning with a bang. He led off with a double and scored off Gabriel Noriega's single.

In the second inning, Jake Snider got on base again, this time with a triple. He drove in Daikan Yoh and Lamar Briggs in the meantime. The score sat 3-0, DockHounds.

Michael Crouse plated the first run for the Dogs with an RBI single in the third.

Ryan Lidge reached on a single in the fourth and was brought in on a Stevie Wilkerson single. Grant Kay drilled a two-run home run to score Wilkerson.

In the fifth frame, Danny Mars owned the at-bat with a 3-run blast. The score was then 7-3.

In the next half inning, Noriega drove in another run on a 4-3 putout. An error by Chicago's shortstop Connor Copach resulted in an unearned run scoring for Lake Country. The Dogs led 7-5.

The last scores of the night occurred in the 9th inning when Mars cranked another homer, this time for two runs. Copach would drive in Mars with an RBI double to close the game 11-5.

Duncan Snider took the hill for Lake Country and lost, giving up seven earned runs. Kipper took the win allowing four earned and striking out eight.
