Sacramento, CA - The Chicago Cubs recalled RH Casey Coleman today. Coleman was scheduled to start for Iowa in Sacramento tonight. RH Frankie De La Cruz will get the start in his place.
Coleman was 2-3 with a 3.48 ERA in seven games (six starts) with Iowa this season. He tossed seven shutout innings for a win in his last start against New Orleans on May 7 at Principal Park. Coleman had four stints with Chicago last season and was 3-9 with a 6.40 ERA in 19 games (17 starts). He is 7-11 with a 5.48 ERA in 31 games (25 start) in his Major League career. Over the last three seasons with Iowa, Coleman is 17-12 with a 3.84 ERA in 39 games (38 starts).
The Cubs open a four-game series against the River Cats tonight at 9:05 Central time. The game will be broadcast live on AM 940 with the pre-game show starting at 8:45.
