Chicago Stars FC News Release
CHICAGO - The Red Stars have added goalkeeper Ryann Torrero, midfielders Jo Boyles and Erin Yenney, and defenders Megan Buckingham and Zoey Goralski to the roster as National Team Replacements. All five will join the roster this Saturday when Chicago hosts Sky Blue FC.
Torrero and Yenney have both been called up previously. While Torrero did not see time in a game, Yenney has appeared in two games, tallying two shots in 23 minutes.
This will be the first call up for Boyles, Buckingham and Goralski. All three played with the Red Stars Reserves in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), who recently won the 2018 WPSL Central Regional Championship.
Former North Carolina Tarheel alums, Buckingham was picked 24th overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft, while Boyles was drafted during the Dispersal Draft via Boston Breakers. Goralski was drafted 27th overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft out of UCLA.
All five players are replacing those on international duty of the 2018 Tournament of Nations. Defender Casey Short, midfielders Morgan Brian and Julie Ertz, and goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher will be representing the U.S., while forward Sam Kerr will play for Australia.
The Red Stars take on Sky Blue FC Saturday, July 28, at 7 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on the NWSL app and the go90 app. Tickets are still available here.
