Cheng and Brannigan Doubles Not Enough in 5-2 Loss

BRADENTON, Fla. - The Bradenton Marauders drop a close game as the Dunedin Blue Jays take a 2.5 game lead in the west with a 5-2 win Saturday at LEECOM Park.

The Blue Jays started their tally in the third as Cade Doughty singled home Josh Kasevich to put them up 1-0.

In the top of the fourth, designated hitter Ryan McCarty hit a sacrifice fly as Devonte Brown scored from third to extend the lead to 2-0.

In the top of the sixth, the Blue Jays tacked on another sun as Jose Ferrer hit a sacrifice fly of his own to make it 3-0.

In the bottom half of the frame, Tsung-Che Cheng doubled with one out then scored on a subsequent double from Jack Brannigan. Juan Jerez then singled home Brannigan to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Blue Jays added two more runs in the eight inning to cap the game at 5-2.

The series continues Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at LECOM Park. RHP Po-Yu Chen will start for the Marauders, while the Blue Jays have yet to announce a starter.
