Chasing the Roadrunners

San Angelo Colts News Release

Edinburg, Texas--- The Colts had three leads Monday Night 1-0, 3-2, and 5-4, but could not hold it. The loss ends San Angelo's five game winning streak as the Colts and Roadrunners split the first two games of a four game set.

The Colts had the early lead when Jason Crosland's (10) leadoff homerun to start the second put the Colts up 1-0. The lead did not last long as Edinburg scored two in the bottom of the third on an RBI double by Felix Molina that drove in two and put the Roadrunners on top 2-1. The Colts answered right back to take their second lead of the game when they scored two in the top of the fourth on Adam Hale (5) two-run homer, who was not only last night's hitting hero but has been on a tear lately, to make it 3-2 San Angelo.

The Roadrunners would add a run in both the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to take the lead, on a leadoff homerun in the fifth by Osiel Flores (4) and a sac fly RBI by Carlos Hereaud in the sixth, and it was 4-3 Edinburg. The Colts took their third lead of the game when they added two in the top of the seventh to take a brief 5-4 lead but it would be their last. The Road runners added two in the bottom of that innings on back-to-back doubles by Wilmer Pino and Felix Molina in the seventh to take a 6-5 lead, the last they would need. It was Molina's third RBI of the night, as his team won by that final.

Lost in this game were not only three leads, but another good start by Colts righty Brian Henschel and Ronnie Gaines, who extended his hitting streak to 20 games. Tuesday San Angelo sends out southpaw Aaron Cunningham (2-3, 5.76) against Edinburg's right-hander Mark DiBernardo (3-1, 3.46). It all begins with the Kemps pre-game show beginning at 6:50 with the first pitch at 7:05 on 1260 KKSA.
