NASHVILLE, TN. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League are proud to announce that Defenseman, Chase Cheslock has been selected 154th overall in the 5th round of the 2023 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils.

Chase Cheslock, 18, of Rogers, Minnesota was drafted by the Lancers back on May 3rd, 2022. Selected 281st overall in the 19th round of phase II in the 2022 USHL Draft while playing at Rogers High (USHS-MN).

In the 2021-22 season, Cheslock, stacked 39 points (10G-29A-39P) in 28 games played while wearing the "C" for Rogers High. He then made his return to Rogers High and had himself another season of averaging over a point per game. The University of St. Thomas Commit grabbed 31 points (4G-27A-31P) in 28 games, guiding the Royals to an 18-7-3 record.

Cheslock made his USHL debut with the Lancers on March 17th, 2023, in a 3-2 victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. Since then, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound defenseman played in 14 straight games to complete the 2022-23 season. Notching five points (1G-4A-5P). With his lone goal coming with 3:15 left in the 3rd period on March 19th to force overtime against the Sioux City Musketeers.

Cheslock is set to make a return to Omaha for the 2023-24 season, before pursuing his division one college hockey career at the University of St. Thomas in the fall of 2024.
