
Chase Buford Named NBA G League Coach of the Month

OSHKOSH, Wis - Wisconsin Herd head coach Chase Buford has been named the NBA G League Coach of the Month for January, the league announced today.
In January, Buford led the Herd to an 8-2 record, which served as the best mark in the league. Wisconsin was a perfect 5-0 on the road and the team collected four victories over teams with winning records. In addition, the Herd won four games by double figures and outscored its opponents by 65 points. For the month, Wisconsin was the only team to record averages of 120 points and 50 rebounds, and the Herd held its opponents to 41.9% shooting, which was the second-best percentage during the month.
In his first season as head coach of the Herd, Buford has led the team to its best start in franchise history and the best record in the G League at 23-7. The 23 victories are a franchise-high and are tied for the second-most in G League history through 30 games. Through the first two months of the season, Wisconsin has set franchise highs in home and road victories, and the Herd's 14-2 road record is tops in the G League. Wisconsin currently leads the league in scoring average (121.0), rebounds per game (53.6) and opponent's field goal percentage (42.6).
With the award, Buford becomes the first coach in Wisconsin Herd history to win Coach of the Month honors.
