Charleston Battery News Release


Charleston, SC. The 2005 USL First Division Schedule was released today, finalizing a 28 game regular season for each of the 12 First Division Clubs. The Charleston Battery will open its campaign at home on April 23 with a match versus the Atlanta Silverbacks; kick off is set for 7:30 PM. Two of the Battery's matches will be broadcast live on the FOX Soccer Channel; July 17 at home versus the Richmond Kickers and August 12 away versus the Atlanta Silverbacks.

All Charleston Battery home matches will be played at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island. Opened in 1999, Blackbaud Stadium was the first privately financed soccer specific stadium in the United States. The state-of-the-art facility includes a host of fan-friendly features including the popular FUNZONE, an interactive children's playground.

Newsradio 730 WSC, "Charleston's Home for News and Talk" will again be the home of the Charleston Battery radio show for the 2005 season. All Charleston Battery away games (regular season, Open Cup and post season) will be broadcast live. All Charleston Battery games are also broadcast live on the internet at www.charlestonbattery.com.
