Champions Suspend Tuesday, August 14 Game
August 14, 2018 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Ottawa Champions News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Champions have suspended the first half of their doubleheader against the Sussex County Miners that was scheduled for August, 14 due to inclement weather. A doubleheader will be played tomorrow, Wednesday, August 15 starting at 5:05 p.m.
The three-game series between the Miners and the Champions has been severely hampered by weather. Monday's game was postponed because of rain, and the teams were slated to play a doubleheader on Tuesday. However, they could only get half an inning in before the skies opened up and forced the game to be suspended.
Wednesday's doubleheader will begin at 5:05 p.m. with the Champions ahead 1-0 heading into the bottom of the first. The second game will begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first contest.
CF Chase Harris scored Ottawa's only run of the evening. SS Daniel Bick singled home Harris, who had been hit by Miners pitcher LHP Sean Bierman.
The Champions will continue their lengthy road swing with four-game sets against the Rockland Boulders and Quebec Capitales starting on Thursday, August 16 and Monday, August 20, respectively. Ottawa will return to RCGT Park to face the Trois-Rivières Aigles on Friday, August 24.
Tickets for all Champions home games are available at www.ottawachampions.com, in-person at the RCGT Park box office, or by calling 613-745-BALL (2255).
