Trois-Rivieres 7, Quebec 2
Third baseman Taylor Brennan launched a grand slam in the second inning to give Trois-Rivieres a 5-1 lead and they would go on to beat Quebec by the score of 7-2.
Brennan was one of three players who hit home runs for the Aigles tonight. Right fielder Alberth Martinez hit a solo shot in the first inning while LF Javier Herrera blasted a two-run long ball in the fourth. Combined the trio went 5-for-11 at the plate with six runs scored and seven RBIs.
Trois-Rivieres starting pitcher Chris Murphy tossed six solid innings in earning his league tying ninth win of the season. Murphy gave up two earned runs on six hits and struck out two batters.
For Quebec, C Maxx Tissenbaum went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Ottawa at Sussex County (Postponed - Rain)
The game between Ottawa and Sussex County was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, August 14 beginning at 5:05 PM. Both contests will be seven innings.
New Jersey at Rockland (Postponed - Rain)
The game between New Jersey and Rockland was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, August 14 beginning at 5:00 PM. Both contests will be seven innings.
