
Chad Akers Announces Retirement

Chad Akers has announced his retirement after three games with the Surf.
Akers, a member of the Surf during the 1999 season, spent three seasons in the Seattle Mariners organization before being released because of injuries in 2001.
Akers was a .285 career minor league hitter in 848 games played.
