CFL Veteran QB Alex Brink Joins Argonauts

Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that CFL veteran import QB Alex Brink has agreed to terms with the club.

Commented Argonauts General Manager Jim Barker, "Alex is an experienced quarterback in this league who offers us even more depth at the position. We are excited to see him compete at this year's training camp for the chance to backup Ricky Ray."

Brink spent the last three seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he served as the backup quarterback and short yardage specialist. In his three- year CFL career with the Bombers, Brink totalled 225 completions on 397 attempts for 2,544 passing yards and 13 touchdowns. He also rushed 120 times for 462 yards and 14 total touchdowns, seven of which came in 2012.

Brink spent all four years of his college career at Washington State University (2004-2007) and left the school as the all-time leading passer with 10,913 yards. He was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic Team, Second-team All Pac-10 and won the ARA Sportsmanship award in his senior year. Before joining the Blue Bombers, Brink spent time in the NFL with the Houston Texans in both 2008 and 2009.
