Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders' annual fan event - Fanfest, presented by Nissan - will be held on Saturday, May 25 at McMahon Stadium. In the event of inclement weather, the fun will be moved indoors to the Foothills Football Dome.
Fanfest begins with a free pancake breakfast in the East parking lot of McMahon Stadium at 8:30 a.m. The stadium gates open at 9:30 a.m., with fun-filled family activities being held on the field. Stampeders players and coaches will be in attendance to sign autographs and answer questions from fans.
Fanfest is an exciting event in its own right but the anticipation is heightened by the fact it signals training camp and the start of the new Canadian Football League season are just around the corner.
"We encourage all fans to join us for what promises to be an excellent event as we warm up for the 2013 season," said Stampeders president Gordon Norrie. "It's a great opportunity for fans to meet the coaching staff, players and other loyal supporters of the Red and White. I'm eagerly anticipating my first Fanfest as Stampeders president and I look forward to meeting as many of our great fans as possible on that day."
Fanfest will provide fans with the opportunity to meet members of the Calgary Stampeder Outriders, get their picture taken with Quick Six the Stampeders Touchdown Horse and pose for photos with the Grey Cup.
The winner of the Presidents' Ring - which goes to the Stampeders player who best demonstrates excellence on and off the field - will be honoured at Fanfest.
In the event of poor weather, Fanfest will be moved to the Foothills Football Dome (2255 Crowchild Tr. NW).
Fans are asked to check www.stampeders.com or call the Fanfest hotline at (403) 284-6461 prior to attending the event for the latest details.
Fanfest is also the first opportunity for Stamps fans to pick up their 2013 season tickets. The Stampeders' Ticket Office will be open at 9 a.m. The Stamps Store will also be open at 9 a.m.
Stampeders season tickets are on sale now for the 2013 season. For more information, visit Stampeders.com or call 403-289-0258 to speak with a customer service representative.
