Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - CF Montréal announced Monday the launch of its new Regional Discovery Program.
An annual program designed for U12 players from across Quebec with aspirations to compete at elite levels, the Regional Discovery Program will build on the identification and recruitment structure of CF Montréal's Academy with sessions in each participating region scheduled from May to the end of August.
The program thus marks the beginning of the identification and development process for players enrolled in CF Montréal Academy programs as well as regional and provincial ones.
It will notably allow CF Montréal to develop a comprehensive list of various player profiles. The Academy will then closely monitor their development, particularly through the major regional and provincial competitions that bring together the best minor soccer talent in Quebec. This process will allow the identified players to integrate the senior programs of the Pre-Academy and eventually the CF Montréal Academy itself as well as Soccer Québec's Programme excel féminin (PEF).
"We are thrilled to implement this program which aligns with the Club's vision," said CF Montréal Academy Director Patrick Leduc. "CF Montréal will work hand in hand with our regional partners to share our common vision. We have been working on this program with Soccer Québec for almost a year now and I am pleased that it has become reality. We have succeeded in creating an integrated pathway for boys and girls in Quebec and we are confident that this program will bear fruit."
Working closely with its regional partners, the CF Montréal Academy will host training sessions across the province and at the Centre Nutrilait where these recruited players and their families will have the opportunity to tour CF Montréal's training facilities, attend detailed presentations on the program and learn more about the background of the athletes involved in the Academy. These presentations will be co-hosted by both CF Montréal Academy personnel and regional club staff.
