CF Montréal Issues Statement on Meeting with ASUPMTL
November 17, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - CF Montréal invited the Association des supporters (ASUPMTL) to a second meeting last Monday, following the one held on August 24. The Club sought to hold further discussions with this group in order to hear their points of view, work together on ways to improve the relationship, help them grow, and to broach the subject of their return to Stade Saputo, all while respecting our history. Unfortunately, the discussions were largely limited to the Club's identity. The organization is extremely disappointed to learn that some of the statements made during this private meeting were circulated publicly and more importantly without context, allowing for erroneous interpretations, particularly regarding our future in Montreal. While the Club is saddened by this turn of events, all fans, including the supporter groups, remain an integral part of the Club. For nearly 30 years, the Saputo family's sporting, community and financial commitment to our Club, our city, and to local soccer has been unwavering and it will continue to remain so.
