
CF Montréal Earns 3-2 Win Over Toronto FC

TORONTO - In its first match in over three weeks, CF Montréal registered a 3-2 win over Toronto FC on Sunday evening at BMO Field.
Mathieu Choinière opened the scoring in the 18th minute, then an own goal doubled Montreal's lead in the 25th minute. Choinière then scored his second goal of the game in the 79th on a penalty.
Striker Federico Bernardeschi had closed the gap in the 66th minute and scored his second goal in the 94th minute.
Montreal won all three games against Toronto this year (all competitions).
The Bleu-blanc-noir will play its upcoming game at Stade Saputo this Saturday at 7:30pm against the New England Revolution.
MATCH NOTES
-Mathieu Choinière has scored four goals this season and eight goals in his MLS career.
-Choinière became the Club's second Homegrown player to score twice in the same game after Anthony Jackson-Hamel.
-Jules-Anthony Vilsaint started his first career game with CF Montréal.
-Five players from the province of Quebec and six Canadians started the game.
