Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry News Release
LAWTON, OKLA- The Oklahoma Cavs met the Rio Grande Silverados for the fourth time in the past week to beat them 118-86 Monday night at the Great Plains Coliseum.
The Cavs started a little shaky turning the ball over in the first seconds of the game. They quickly recovered to win the quarter 29-19, and leave the game with 6 of the 7 quarter points.
Guard/Forward Curtis Haywood had a good night almost scoring a triple double with 13 points, 10 boards, and 9 assists. Daryan Selvy led the team with 23 points, Center Tony Key poured in 19 points and 7 rebounds, and Brandon Dean, DeAnthony Bowden, and Marvin Phillips all chipped in 14 points. The Cavs had support from the bench with every Cavs player scoring off the bench.
The Silverados trailed by 22 points in the third quarter and never got close enough to challenge the Cavs in the fourth quarter.
"We came out and played well. We didn't take it lightly and put the pedal to the metal. We are in a good groove and we need to keep it going," said Head Coach Michael Ray Richardson.
The Cavs win streak has been extended to 7 games. The Cavs will travel to visit the Butte Daredevils on Feb. 13 and 14, and then will visit the Great Falls Explorers for two on Feb. 18 and 19.
Catch the next Cavs home game Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
